28 Day Challenge - Day 4

Friday nights have taken a very different complexion, both this week and in the last couple of months.

For the past 2 years, Friday nights were reserved for excessive calories and "one last blow out" before my new diet started on Monday.

Needless to say, Monday came. Monday went. And the diet never materialised beyond lunch time on Monday. I was barely on the wagon before I fell off, head first into about 3,000 calories.

Anyway, we move on. And Friday night this week was spent in the gym and on the treadmill with the world cup on.

Its now Saturday and I've completed day 4 of the challenge. As I lie in bed, aching from head to toe, I can't help but feel I've possibly bitten off more than I can chew.

Day 1 - 10th June.

Marked a return to the gym after about 6 days off after a trip down south to see friends.

The first session consisted of 20 mins on the exercise bike, chest and biceps workout.

Day 2

We're off and no turning back now. This session was predominantly a weights day again.

With just 10 minutes on the bike, back, shoulders and traps.

Mentally, I felt much better that I could feel myself falling back into a routine.

Day 3.

Cardio was reintroduced at the point and it was an improvement on the running I had started in the previous blog post.

I did 67 minutes on the treadmill.

60 minutes was interval running at 3min walk followed by 7 minutes running for an hour.

The biggest thing was an eye opening 861 calories burnt.

Day 4.

I felt great after yesterday's session and thought I'd run it back again.

I finished on 69 mins on treadmill but I tweaked the amount of running vs walking intervals.

2.5 mins walking and 7.5 mins running for an hour.

Last week I was only running for 60% of my time and in just over a week, im now up to 75% of my hour running.

So we're 4 sessions down and 24 to go. Back to it tomorrow!
